Phil Pratt has been active in adaptive sports since he was eleven. By sixteen, he had decided to put his efforts into basketball, and has been involved at a competitive level ever since. Phil made his debut for the Great Britain men’s team at the 2012 Standard Life Continental Clash. In the same year he received the great honor of being selected to carry the Paralympic Flag into the stadium at the London 2012 Opening Ceremony with seven other Great Britain basketball players under 22. Four years later he was he was once again on the Paralympic stage; this time, as an athlete. He took home a bronze medal at that game and since then has medaled at the 2017 European Championships (silver) and the 2018 World Championships (gold). Today, Phil is playing for the Sheffield Steelers and is preparing for the fast-approaching Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
“When I first started playing wheelchair basketball I looked up to the likes of Paul Schulte, Shaun Norris and one man in particular; Steve Serio. One thing that stood out the most was the way he was able to move his chair, which was a per4max! For me, PER4MAX are the top of our game when it comes to performance and also when it comes to looks. There’s nothing better than rocking up to a game and knowing you’re in the best chair in the game. To be able to represent team per4max is a huge honour and it’s massively enhanced my game. I’m now quicker, more agile and balanced than I’ve ever been thanks to the world’s best chair and the team at PER4MAX.”
