Jake Williams
ABOUT JAKE
Jake Williams began his wheelchair basketball journey in 2007 thanks to an intorducton to the sport from a local player, who scouted Williams while he was going through rehabilitation following his accident. Williams was connected with the Milwaukee Buck (WASA) NWBA junior team where he played until entering the collegiate ranks of Wheelchair Basketball in 2010. In 2014, Williams won The NWBA intercollegiate national championship as a member of The (UWW) Warhawks Men’s Wheelchair Basketball Team. In 2016 he helped lead Team USA to victory and a GOLD medal at the Paralympics Games in Rio. In 2015 he won a gold medal at the Pan Am Games in Toronto Canada and in 2013 he won a gold medal at the world championships qualifying tournament in Bogota Columbia. Currently, Williams is playing professionally with RSB Thuringia Bulls (EuroCup Champions and teamate to Matt Scott) in Germany and has his sights set on continuing to represent Team USA at the 2020 Olympics for an oporutnity to defend his Gold Medal.
